♦ Crow Wing County was established on May 23, 1857 and organized March 3, 1879. The county is named for the Crow Wing River.

Iron Ore Pushed Development of County
♦ Many factors have contributed to the growth of Crow Wing County. The greatest, however, was the discovery and development of iron ore on the Cuyuna Range.
